Common questions

How does the email reveal work?

When a recipient accepts your invite via the maeil link, they enter their email address once to confirm their RSVP. maeil sends an ICS calendar response back to you with their real email in the RSVP — so it shows up automatically in your calendar's guest list. They're choosing to share it with you.

What if they don't accept?

No reveal happens. The email is only shared when the recipient actively accepts the invite. If they decline or ignore it, their email stays private.

Which calendar apps does this work with?

Google Calendar, Apple Calendar (Mac & iPhone), and Microsoft Outlook. Basically any calendar app that sends standard ICS invite emails — which is all of the major ones.

What countries are supported?

US phone numbers only in v1. International support is on the roadmap.

Can recipients opt out?

Yes. Recipients can reply STOP to any maeil SMS at any time and they'll never receive another message from maeil. There's also a data deletion link on every acceptance page.

Is this legal?

Yes. The first SMS sent by maeil is informational (you've been invited to an event) with a clear opt-out. The recipient chooses to share their email. maeil complies with TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and GDPR guidelines.

What's the difference between Standard and Power?

Standard ($7.99/yr) gives you 50 sends/day and you can check the email reveals dashboard whenever you want. Power ($24.99 one-time, forever) adds real-time email notifications — the moment someone accepts, you get an email with their address in the subject line. No need to check the dashboard.
